Holly is the manager of CHARTER.  In addition to writing lyrics and singing in the band, she serves at her church singing in the worship band for children's church, is part of program staff for the week long away camp at Wolf Mountain each summer, and serves in various behind-the-scenes activities (set-building for Carol Sing, data entry for Servant's Heart classes, among others).  She has been married since 1977 and has 2 teenaged sons (fraternal twins) who make great roadies for the band.  Her favorite Bible passage is Colossions 1:9-14.

Rick plays keyboards and bass in the band - he'd rather play bass.  He's played in one band or another since high school.  In addition to playing in CHARTER, Rick serves at his church playing bass for one of the worship band and keyboards in the worship band for children's church.

Cindy and her husband Dave have three children. She and her husband serve as Preschool
worship leaders, sing in the choir and on a praise team. Cindy is also quite active in the
Women's Ministry activities at her church. Their children are involved in a number of
ministries as well. Their oldest son plays the trumpet in the orchestra and serves as a
daycamp counselor. Their daughter sings on a praise team and is part of a small singing
group. Their youngest son has been involved in a leadership training program for the last
couple of years. Cindy enjoys crafting, tole painting, sewing, singing, and acting. She is
currently a one-on-one aide for a little boy with cerebral palsy. Her life verse is Gal. 2:20  "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

Ron has been playing guitar since he was 13 years old.  His favorite guitars include a 1973 Martin D-28 Acoustic, a 1999 Parker Fly Deluxe, and a 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom.  Ron has been a worship leader at various churches since 1973, specializing in youth and children's ministries.  He is currently a member of Calvary Church in Los Gatos, CA where he plays every Sunday morning for the Children's church.  Ron performed with Holly and Rick Hartman for several years at various church activities prior to joining "Charter" in October 1999.  Ron plays a variety of styles including blues, rock, country, jazz and classical, combining these to play skillfully before the LORD, making melody in his heart with praise.  He is very happily married to Debbie and they have 3 children, Dan 24, Rob 23, and Beth 21.

Roma is a 4th generation Irish Californian who has lived in the Bay Area her entire life (and not many people can say that ).   She graduated from high school during the ignoble Disco Era and has been married since 1981 with a teenaged son.  Her favorite color is green and her favorite songs are "Moon River" from the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "When I Fall in Love" by Nat King Cole.  Favorite books are the Left Behind series and the Sue Grafton mystery novels.  Interestingly enough, Roma has correctly predicted the major winners for the Academy Awards for the last 15 years.

Roma is currently taking a break to spend more time with her family.

Gordon can say that he has lived in the Bay Area his entire life (so there, Roma...)  He is married and is enjoying raising a little boy.  In addition to keyboard and songwriting duties with Charter, Gordon is the keyboardist for the worship team at his church (which he has attended since he was born).  He also plays various woodwind instruments, loves to fish, and is a bit of a techno-geek.  Once in a while he comes up with a good one (as his son would say, "You funny, da-da!")  Interestingly enough, Gordon has not won a major Academy Award for the last 15 years.
